About

On Air Broadcast Crew is a practical, confidence-building way to learn AI. Teams produce their own news broadcast, and every person uses AI tools to do their part.

The session opens with a short introduction to AI and focused video training on a handful of tools, so the whole group starts on the same page.

Teams then become independent news crews. Each member takes a specialist role, such as scriptwriter, researcher, image or video creator, voice artist, editor or producer, with AI tools matched to that job. Using a brief, a template and a realistic scenario, crews produce a news segment and present it to the room.

When time allows, crews share which tools worked and what was tricky, and the session ends with a debrief on key lessons and how to keep building AI skills at work.

Learning outcomes

Learning AI by doing a real project makes the skills stick. Because every specialist's work has to fit into one finished broadcast, collaboration and creativity grow naturally along the way. Seeing how one person's output feeds the next also helps people value roles they rarely think about.

Talking openly about AI throughout the session helps ease common concerns and builds a culture of learning and adapting together.

The program makes one point very clear: AI is there to support people, not replace them. It frees teams to spend more time on strategic and creative work, and participants start spotting where it could help in their own roles.

Where it is useful, the debrief can also open a conversation about the ethics of AI and how your organization plans to handle them, so everyone feels heard.
